Sage is pleased to be able to bring the Virtual Dementia Tour® experience to care partners in our community. We have
been trained and certified as facilitators and will be able to guide you through the simulation that will enable you to get a sense of what it is like to live with dementia: limited and distorted vision, impaired fine and gross motor skills, overwhelmed auditory senses, and an overall feeling of confusion and disorientation.
The Virtual Dementia Tour® (VDT) is designed to give the participant an up close, hands-on experience that provides critical insight to those caring for people living with dementia.
The VDT, used internationally since 2001, helps shed light on some of the seemingly inappropriate and at times difficult behaviors exhibited by those with dementia. www.secondwind.org
The VDT® was developed by Second Wind Dreams®, a
national nonprofit organization whose mission is to change

The VDT® itself takes 20 minutes and is followed by a
40-minute discussion. Due to the hands-on nature of the experience, we will only be able to offer this in-person.
Healthcare professionals who attend this program will receive
a certificate of completion and may contact their accrediting agency to arrange for CEUs.
